In 2023, Islandia Journal will be published as a print quarterly. We'll consider submissions on a rolling basis -- meaning work will be considered both for its merit and first-come, first-serve. Our first issue is scheduled for March, and so-on and so-forth.

Islandia prioritizes publishing the work of those who call South Florida home but will consider work by those who live outside the region but whose work is connected to it in some way, shape, or form.

Non-Fiction works to considered include: Hidden Histories, Personal Essays, Reported Stories, and essays that fit somewhere in between all of this. There is a word count limit of 1,500 words. We are a print journal and space is limited.

Please let us know if this is a simultaneous submission and if your work has been accepted elsewhere prior to notification from us.

We look forward to reading your work and continuing to publish your (sub)tropical voices.

Islandia pays $100 for personal essays and pay begins at $150 for reported stories and hidden histories, scaling up for work that requires travel time and/or archival research
